The atmosphere was good, the service and the food were all "Top Shelf" quality!!! We will definitely be back. This made twice and they do not disappoint :) http://cubanislandcafe.com/tablet/index.html
It has been a long time since I have come here for a Cubano sandwich. I remember them being very good, but I forgot just how good they actually are! I ordered a half cubano with yellow rice & red beans for lunch. I called it in and they had it ready in about 10 mins. I will say the prices on the menu that I looked at on Yelp is no longer accurate, but that is not the restaurants fault. It said a half cubano with rice and beans was $7.99 and I thought that was an amazing deal! Well, as it turns out that menu is VERY outdated. This lunch was about $12, but worth every single penny. I opened up my to-go container and thought I will definitely eat all of the sandwich, but I'll probably stop short on the rice and beans because it was a decent amount of food and I didn't want to be too full. I was soooo wrong, I just kept eating the rice and beans until they were gone. Very delicious and very full of flavor. The "hot" green sauce is phenomenal! I ended up putting some of that on top of my rice. I would put this sauce on just about anything. The sandwich was perfect, the pork was juicy and tender, the ham and the pickles were present in each bite and the bread was exactly what Cuban bread should be for this sandwich. I'll be back for sure!
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. When I move away from the Warner Robins area, the only restaurant I will truly miss is Cuban Island Cafe. The food is beyond amazing. The jerk chicken, ropa vieja, and lechon asado are all so good. Don't forget the Francesca sauce! The owners are top tier and incredibly welcoming. I've been here no less than 100 times, and not once have I had a bad experience. #1 restaurant in the area - bar none.
Cuban island cafe is the perfect description of this spot. Cuban because the flavor rings of cuban flavor. Island because in the middle of no where Warner Robbins, you find this restaurant. Cafe because this is a cute spot with meals and drinks. I ordered the Churassco steak with shrimp. One of the best things about this meal is the variety and quality. You get steak, shrimp, rice, beans, plaintains and yuka. Overall, each item brings something to the table. The yellow rice was soft and sufficiently moist. The beans provided an excellent side with lots of flavor and warmth. The plaintains were a sweet side dish to compliment the savory shrimp and steak. The yuka was a fun surprise because it had a good texture and not too crispy from the frying.
I've have visited here several times and they never disappoint. The food is simply fabulous and the staff has been delightful.
Delicious and authentic. Croquettes were good. The service was great and the place was packed for lunch.
This is my favorite local Cuban restaurant so far. It feels like Cuba and tastes like Cuba. The menu has everything. I love the ropa vieja. I have had it twice and it was a little different each time, surprisingly, but good. Everything I have had tasted fresh and had flavor. The service was phenomenal every time. I am definitely going back.
Food was tasty and serving size was plentiful. Staff was friendly and super thoughtful and nice. I ended up getting some croquets and the bistek w/ plantains, yellow rice and the spicy Fresca sauce. It was a 10/10 and will prob go back to try other things during lunch time.
Great friendly restaurant. Awesome waiters and owner, awesome food, what else can you ask for? Ordered the curry chicken, pork lunch special, empanadas, fries, everything was cooked well, seasoned well, tender and delicious. We will definitely be back when we visit the area again!
Amazing, filling and thankful for a authentic place like this here. The Rojo vieja was delicious! The tostones were good, missing a dipping sauce with it, but very good. Service was good, comfortable place to enjoy some good drinks. The tres leches was so good.
